An eighteen year-old Regina male faces numerous charges as the result of an auto theft, impaired driving and three hit-and-run incidents on November 6, 2010 in Regina.
At about 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010, police were dispatched to the corner of Albert Street and 4th Avenue for a hit-and-run incident in progress. Police learned that a Ford F-150, which was southbound on Albert Street was struck on the driver’s side by a white Hummer. The Hummer initially went past the truck, then reversed and struck the truck a second time before heading west on 4th Avenue. The occupants of the truck did not sustain injuries and followed the Hummer west on 4th until it turned south onto Robinson Street. When the occupants of the Hummer exited the vehicle in the 1000 block of Robinson, one victim of the hit-and-run detained the driver of the Hummer until police arrived. Further investigation revealed the same Hummer had been involved in two other hit-and-run incidents and had been stolen from a business in the 800 block of Albert Street sometime before 6:30 p.m. The keys had been left in the vehicle. Investigation led to numerous charges against the 18-year-old male suspect.
