The Regina Police Service is investigating a suspicious death that occurred on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at a dwelling in the 400 block of Montreal Street. Police are treating the death as a homicide pending confirmation through an autopsy ordered by the Coroner.
At approximately 4:31 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011, police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Montreal Street for a report of a noisy altercation. As police were making their way to the address, additional information was gained to indicate a male had been seriously injured. Police and EMS arrived and located an adult male who was pronounced deceased by EMS, at the scene. Police secured the scene, requested the Coroner and began the process of gathering information and potential evidence to determine the circumstances of this person’s death. The deceased person’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
Police will not be releasing details as to the type of injuries sustained by the victim, nor speculating as to cause of death.
