The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is conducting an investigation into an apparent sudden death following the discovery of a deceased male late this afternoon, Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of King Street. The caller had gone to check on a friend who had not been seen for a few days and discovered a male, believed to be deceased, in the residence. Police and EMS arrived and confirmed the person was deceased. Officers secured the scene as part of the sudden death investigation and requested that the Coroner attend.
At this time, police know that the deceased is an adult male. Next steps in the investigation will include confirming the identity of the deceased person and notifying his next-of-kin. Police will continue, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, to gather information that will clarify the circumstances of this person’s death.
