The eighth annual Regina Police Service Half Marathon will be run on Sunday, April 17, 2011. Although most of the 21.1 kilometre route uses the pathways around Wascana Centre and the University of Regina, there will be lane restrictions on some roadways and two temporary road closures.
The road closures for the Half Marathon will affect the portion of Broad Street through Wascana Centre. Broad Street will be blocked from Wascana Drive to 23rd Avenue from 7:00 a.m. until noon on Sunday, April 17, 2011. Traffic north and southbound on Wascana Parkway/Broad Street will be re-routed for the safety of walkers, runners, volunteers and all other users of the roadway. In addition, eastbound traffic on Lakeshore Drive will not be permitted to turn north (left) onto Broad Street, but will be able to turn south. Motorists are advised to choose alternate routes and to be aware of runners and walkers around Wascana Centre on Sunday morning.
For those participating in the Half Marathon, vehicle entrance to the Conexus Arts Centre will be restricted prior to race start. Please consult http://marathon.reginapolice.ca/ for details.
