The Regina Police Service has charged a 21 year-old male in relation to a pedestrian collision that occurred on December 7, 2011.
At 7:03 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, police were dispatched to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at St. John Street and 4th Avenue. A 39 year-old male pedestrian was struck by an eastbound vehicle; the victim was taken to hospital, by EMS, with injuries described as serious. Preliminary investigation indicated the pedestrian was on the west side of St. John Street and crossing 4th Avenue from south to north. The pedestrian was struck by a Toyota Cressida, driven by a 21 year-old male driver, which was travelling east-bound on 4th Avenue in the left driving lane. Police closed the roadway until shortly after 12:00 p.m. in order to take measurements of the scene and gather data and any roadway evidence. The 21 year-old male has been charged with Failing to Yield to Pedestrian (TSA) and Speeding (TSA) and will make his first court appearance on April 11, 2012.
