A 35 year-old male, fromWinnipeg,Manitoba, has been charged with Attempt Murder in a case involving a 37 year-old female victim, with whom he’d had a prior relationship.
The investigation began on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, when a 37 year-old woman reported to police that she believed her ex-husband had tried to poison her. Officers began the investigation, which involved seizing evidence and sending it for further analysis. It’s alleged the suspect, a 37 year-old male, placed a harmful substance in a soft drink in the victim’s refrigerator sometime on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
On Thursday, April 12, 2012, police received an allegation that the same male had unlawfully entered the home of the same victim while she was not at home. Police arrested the suspect, without incident, at approximately 11:00 a.m. yesterday (April 12th) for Break and Enter. During the course of further investigation, police gathered evidence leading to charges in relation to the April 12th Break and Enter and a charge of Attempt Murder in the April 7th incident.
Thirty-five year-old Lyle Derek WHITE, DOB: 1976-07-19, ofWinnipeg, is charged with Possession of Stolen Property [355(b) CC]; Break and Enter [348(1)(b) CC]; and Attempt Murder [239 CC]. WHITE will make his first court appearance on these charges inProvincial Courtat 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012.
