Four people: three males and a female, are in police custody after a traffic stop carried out this afternoon in the area of Dewdney Avenue and Retallack Street. Investigators believe the four are connected to an alleged abduction reported to the Regina Police Service last night (Thursday, August 23, 2012). The 18 year-old female, who was reported abducted, was located by police at approximately 1:30 p.m. today. The alleged victim was unharmed and now investigators are working to determine the circumstances under which she left the house in the 4300 block of 3rd Avenue North as well as her activities during her absence.
The traffic stop was the result of investigation into the alleged abduction. The primary location of the traffic stop was Dewdney Avenue and Retallack Street at about 3:06 p.m.. Other police units created a safety perimeter around the area. Police arrested the four occupants of the vehicle without incident. At this stage in the investigation, there are charges pending against two of the males. The third male and female in custody are being interviewed to determine what involvement, if any, they had in this whole matter.
