The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, has begun a death investigation after the discovery of a deceased infant in the 1100 Block of Rae St.
At approximately 8:23 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, police were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Rae Street for a report of a deceased infant. Police arrived and located the body of the infant inside the residence. EMS was called and confirmed the infant deceased. Police secured the scene and requested additional resources, including the Coroner, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification investigators. At this early stage in the investigation police activities include preserving the scene, gathering potential evidence, and speaking with people in efforts to determine the circumstances of the death.
