A second male has been arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the death, last December, of 26 year-old Delvin Charles MIKE, who was found critically injured in the early morning hours of December 31, 2012. This accused also faces drug-related charges.
The murder charge arises from an investigation that began on Monday, December 31, 2012, at approximately 12:35 a.m., when police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Robinson Street for a report of an injured male. Police arrived and located the body of a 26 year-old male who was critically injured. Police carried out CPR until EMS arrived and transported the victim to hospital. The male was pronounced deceased in hospital a short time later. The victim was identified as 26 year-old Delvin Charles MIKE.
As the result of investigation, a 30 year-old male was arrested without incident on Friday, May 31, 2013, at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the 1500 block Athol Street. It’s alleged the male was also in possession of a substance believed to be cocaine and a quantity of cash, believed to be proceeds of crime.
The accused, 30 year-old Owen Maurice PELLETIER, DOB: 1982-08-06, of Regina, has been charged with Second Degree Murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. PELLETIER is also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) [5(2) CDSA] and Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC]. PELLETIER will make his first court appearance on the charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013.
