As the result of investigation, carried out in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, the Regina Police Service has concluded that there is no known criminal aspect to the death of a one year-old female child on Friday, August 31, 2013.
Police were informed of the death of the little girl at about 10:35 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013; however, officers had been dispatched earlier in the day to assist EMS and RF&PS at a house in the 6200 block of Dalgleish Drive, for a report of a baby who was having trouble breathing. The caregiver of the child had called 9-1-1. The infant girl received emergency medical treatment and was transported to hospital by EMS, but died later that night.
The Regina Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner have investigated the death to learn more about the circumstances and are satisfied that there is no criminal aspect to this death. The name of the deceased child will not be released by the Regina Police Service. Police will now assist the Office of the Chief Coroner in closing this investigation.
