A fourth person has now been charged in connection with a serious assault in Central Park in the early-morning hours of Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in the area of 14th Avenue and Scarth Street. The victim, a 35 year-old male, remains in hospital. There are already two adult males and a female young person charged in connection with this case.
This investigation began after police were dispatched to 14th Avenue and Scarth Street at about 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014, for a report of a group of people beating up a male victim. The victim was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries that were initially described as life-threatening. The suspects fled as police arrived, but a number of people were taken into custody a short time later. Investigation into this event led to one person being released without being charged. Three others were charged with the aggravated assault and, today, a 24 year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with the same incident.
Twenty-four year-old Barry Ryan STRONGARM, DOB: 1989-12-11, of Regina, is charged with Aggravated Assault [268(1) CC] and two charges of Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC]. STRONGARM has been remanded for the weekend and will make his next court appearance on these charges on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.
