UPDATE: Male Arrested outside Bingo Hall in North Regina (adds name of accused)
A 29 year-old male is facing robbery and firearms-related charges after an incident on June 8, 2014 at a North Regina bingo hall.
At 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014, Regina Police Service members responded to a weapons call at in North Regina. A male was reported to be outside a North Regina bingo hall carrying what appeared to be a handgun and asking bingo patrons for money as they were entering the establishment. When the male was unsuccessful in getting any money outside, he then allegedly walked into the Bingo Hall, grabbed money off a table and fled out the side door. Regina Police patrol members confronted the male as he was leaving the scene and arrested him without incident. The male had a pellet handgun in his possession at the time of the arrest.
Twenty-nine year old Adrian Angus SOUTHWIND, DOB: 1984-08-06, of Regina, is charged with: Armed Robbery, Sec 343(D) CC; Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, Sec 88 CC; Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Sec 90 CC; Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Sec 145(3); and Use of Imitation Firearm during Commission of an Offence, Sec 85(2)(A) CC. SOUTHWIND makes his first court appearance on these charges at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014.
