The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in the investigation of a Weapons Assault that happened at a house in the 1600 block of Toronto Street early this morning.
Police were dispatched at about 12:40 a.m. to a house in the 1600 block of Toronto Street last night for the report of an assault. Police arrived to find a female and two males in the home.
One of the males was asleep in the house the other male and the female were in the backyard at a fire pit, when a vehicle approached via alleyway. Two males, one carrying a machete and the other a firearm, exited the vehicle and entered the backyard. It is alleged that one of the suspects struck the male with the firearm, and demanded cash and belongings from the victims, which was turned over to the suspects.
The male attempted to hold them off and sustained injury. EMS arrived and attended to the male victim’s injuries. The injured male was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
Both suspects are described as male, Aboriginal, approximately 20-25 years old, with slim build. One of the males is described as having medium length dark hair and was about 5’9” tall. The other male was described as about 5’6”.
