A 21 year-old Regina female has been charged with Attempt Murder after an incident on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, that resulted in a 49 year-old woman being taken to hospital with apparent stab wounds.
Police were dispatched to the 2900 block of 13th Avenue at about 9:23 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17th after a call was received from a business on that block, reporting a woman had been stabbed. The victim, a 49 year-old female, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. In the preliminary investigation police were able to obtain key information, including a description of the suspect. The investigation led police to a disturbance in the area of the 2000 block of Robinson Street, where the suspect was located and taken into custody without further incident. The suspect was also taken to hospital for assessment since she was heavily intoxicated by (potentially) a variety of substances. The police investigation led to charges against the suspect who was remanded by a Justice at the hospital. Provincial Correctional workers assumed custody of the accused until her first court appearance.
Twenty-one year-old Colleen Dawn PIAPOT, DOB: 1993-01-20, of Regina is charged with Attempt Murder [239 CC] and Breach of Recognizance [145(3) CC]. PIAPOT made her first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2014.
