The Regina Police Service responded Monday, December 22nd, 2014 to a six vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Pasqua Street and 9th Avenue North.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22nd, 2014, police were dispatched to the intersection of Pasqua and 9th Avenue North for the report of a motor vehicle incident. Police arrived to find six vehicles damaged including a black SUV with extensive front damage. A male appeared unconscious and trapped inside the SUV. Regina Fire and Protective Services extracted the male from the vehicle. EMS attended and the male was transported to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening. Two drivers of other vehicles involved also suffered injuries and were taken to hospital.
Investigation determined that five vehicles were waiting at the red light in a southbound lane on Pasqua Street when the SUV collided with the rearmost vehicle from behind at a high rate of speed, causing a chain reaction.
It is not known at this time what charges, if any, may result. The collision is still under investigation.
