The Regina Police Service Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) will be conducting regular monthly training in Regina tomorrow (Wednesday, December 17, 2014) and wishes to advise the public of the location involved so as not to cause any unnecessary alarm.
The team will be practicing on the 1300 block of Wascana Street – with the permission of the owners of the properties.
Anyone in the area will notice police vehicles, including a large Tactical Armoured Vehicle, or TAV, as well as police members in SWAT uniform. All of the necessary safety checks have been performed on equipment and there is no live ammunition involved in this training. The officers will be training on Wednesday December 17, 2014 from approximately 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Other than the sight of police officers training at these locations, there should be no disruption to the usual everyday activity and traffic flow in the area.
