A 38 year-old Regina male is facing charges in connection with two robberies in Regina the night of Friday, February 27, 2015.
At approximately 10:40 p.m. on February 27th, police were dispatched to a robbery at a restaurant in the 300 block of Albert Street. It’s alleged a male walked into the business and threatened to spray employees with a corrosive substance. The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, about 35 years old about 6’ 2” tall, thin build, wearing a blue jacket and toque. The suspect fled without obtaining the cash drawer and the employees were not physically harmed. Minutes later, police received a call of a male suspect who had robbed a restaurant in the 2700 block of Avonhurst Drive. In this case, the male entered the business with one hand concealed under his clothing and told employees he had a gun. The male fled with a quantity of cash. No one was physically injured in this incident. The male suspect was described as a Caucasian male wearing a blue jacket. Police arrived at the scene and found a male in the area who matched the suspect description. He was detained and upon further investigation was charged.
Thirty-eight year-old Scott Lindsay COWAN, DOB: 1976-06-05, of Regina is charged with Robbery with Violence [343(a) CC] and Armed Robbery [343(d) CC]. COWAN made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015.
