The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, can now confirm that the death of a 22 year-old male, in the 900 block of Athol Street, is now a homicide investigation. A 36 year-old male has been charged in connection with this case. This is the fifth homicide in Regina in 2015.
On Monday May 25, 2015 at approximately 2:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 900 block of Athol Street in Regina for a report of a seriously-injured male. Police and EMS arrived and the male was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Patrol members contained the scene and requested the Coroner, as well as Major Crimes and Forensic Identification investigators. As the result of investigation, the death is deemed a homicide case. Ongoing investigation led to the arrest, at approximately noon, on May 25, 2015, of a 36 year-old male, who has been charged in connection with the homicide.
The victim’s family has been notified of his death as well as this development in the case. The victim is 22 year-old Trent Mark PASCAL, DOB: 1992-08-28, of Regina.
Thirty-six year-old Steven Blaine PASCAL, DOB: 1979-03-31, of Regina is charged with Second Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. PASCAL also faces a charge of Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC] on an unrelated matter. PASCAL will make his first court appearance on the charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
