On Saturday, November 07, 2015, at approximately 12:07 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1100 block Cameron Street for a weapons offence. Four hooded teenage males with bandanas masking their faces approached a twenty-five year-old male and demanded he turn over his belongings. When the twenty-five year-old male refused, one of the males pulled out a machete. The twenty-five year-old male ran into a residence and called police, and the hooded males fled.
Police observed four males at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Athol Street. Two fourteen year-old males, a fifteen year-old male, and a sixteen year-old male, were arrested and charged.
A fourteen year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery [343(D) CC]
- Disguise with Intent [351(2) CC]
Another fourteen year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery [343(D) CC]
- Disguise with Intent [351(2) CC]
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [90 CC]
- Obstruct a Police Officer [129 CC]
- Three charges, Fail to Comply with Disposition [137 YCJA]
A fifteen year old male, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery [343(D) CC]
- Disguise with Intent [351(2) CC]
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [90 CC]
A sixteen year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:
- Armed Robbery [343(D) CC]
- Disguise with Intent [351(2) CC]
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [90 CC]
All four males made their first appearance on these charges in Youth Court this morning at 9:30 a.m.
