At approximately 1:15pm on December 12, 2015, a police member was approached by two people, at the corner of Sask Dr and Broad St, who reported that a firearm was pointed at them outside a residence in the 1600 block of Broad St. No injuries had occurred.
Police immediately set up a perimeter around the location and began to investigate the incident. Contact was made with the occupants of the residence and four people exited the location without incident. A search warrant was later executed on the residence and several imitation firearms were seized. Charges were laid against two adult males and one male young offender.
Eighteen year old Justin ANDERSON (DOB 1997/05/06) is charged with two counts of Pointing a Firearm [87(1) CC] and one count of Possession of a Weapon [87 CC]. Twenty-three year old Nathan Craig HUXTED (DOB 1992/06/03) is charged with one count of Possession of a Weapon [88 CC]. The accused will make their first court appearance on these charges in court on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
A sixteen year old youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing the following charges: two counts of Uttering Threats [264.1(1)(A) CC]; Pointing a Firearm [87(1) CC]; Possession of a Weapon [88 CC]; Fail to Comply with Disposition [137 YCJ]; and Breaching a Community Order. The youth will make his first court appearance on these charges in Youth Court on Monday, December 14, 2015.
