Regina Police Service members, along with EMS and Regina Fire and Protective Services attended to a two-vehicle collision this morning on the Ring Road at McDonald Street and, fortunately, there are no serious injuries to any of the parties involved.
Police were dispatched this morning, just after 8:00 a.m. to the Ring Road near McDonald Street after it was reported that an SUV, proceeding in the North-Northwest-bound lanes, lost control, crossed the centre median and came into collision with a small bus, heading South-Southeast. The vehicles came to rest near the McDonald-to-Ring-Road south on-ramp. EMS was in attendance, but only one person, a young female passenger in the bus, was taken to hospital, as a precaution, by a family member. The adult female driver of the SUV sustained a scratch on her arm; the adult male driver of the bus was uninjured.
The investigation into this matter determined both vehicles were proceeding at a reasonable speed. Road conditions were described as very poor and it is believed the driver of the SUV simply lost control on the icy roadway. There was no alcohol involved in this collision. There are no charges contemplated at this time. The Regina Police Service thanks the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.
