The Regina Police Service is conducting an investigation into a suspicious package incident near the Show Lounge entrance of Casino Regina, at 1880 Saskatchewan Drive.
This investigation began when an employee of Casino Regina found a small suspicious package near the Show Lounge entrance of Casino Regina at about 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 29th, 2016. Responding officers secured the scene, conducted an initial risk assessment and requested the Regina Police Service Explosives Disposal Unit attend.
Members of the Explosives Disposal Unit conducted an examination of the package and determined it could be removed as it was not dangerous.
As always, the Regina Police Service would like to remind members of the public to call police if they note any suspicious activity or see a package or other item that looks unusual or out of place. All such calls are taken seriously and assessed for potential risk to public safety. In cases where it is deemed necessary, additional resources are assigned and public advisories issued.
