A 41 year-old Regina male has been charged with Second Degree Murder in connection with the 2014 homicide of Marvin Bruce SEFTON.
Police began their investigation into this death on March 1, 2014, when police were dispatched to a house in the 1000 block of Garnet Street for a report of a male who was injured, possibly deceased. Police and EMS arrived at the location and EMS confirmed the male deceased. Police secured the scene and requested the Coroner, as well as additional resources from Major Crimes and Forensic Identification. The deceased person was identified as 41 year-old Marvin Bruce SEFTON, DOB: 1972-03-13, of Regina. The investigation, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, indicated the deceased male was the victim of homicide. On March 2, 2014, a then-28-year-old female was charged with Second Degree Murder, but the Crown entered a stay of proceedings in the case. Continued investigation into the death of Marvin SEFTON resulted, this week, in the arrest of a 41 year-old Regina male.
Forty-one year-old Christopher Guy MacGREGOR, DOB: 1974-09-21, of Regina, is charged with Second Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. MacGREGOR made his first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 this morning, Thursday, June 30, 2016.
