Two Regina females, an eighteen year-old and a seventeen year-old, are being charged after a stolen vehicle incident on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
On Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at approximately 8:30 p.m. police were dispatched to the intersection of Winnipeg Street and Victoria Avenue for a report of a male pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene, and the male was taken to hospital by EMS for treatment of minor injuries. The female driver and male pedestrian were already acquainted before this incident.
At approximately 8:32 p.m., police were dispatched to Broad Street and 2nd Avenue North for a motor vehicle collision involving the same vehicle. The vehicle struck a tree and part of a house located on the 200 block of Broad Street. The two suspects fled on foot, but were located and arrested by patrol officers a short time later.
Eighteen year-old Victoria Lee ANDREWS (DOB: 1998/02/03), of Regina, is charged with:
- Two charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle [Sec 249(3), CT],
- Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Bodily Harm [Sec 252(1.2), CC],
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [Sec 333.1(1), CC],
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [Sec 355(A), CC],
- Four charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking [Sec 145(3), CC],
- Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident [Sec 252(1.1), CC].
ANDREWS made her first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, August 3, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.
The second female charged, a youth, cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The seventeen year-old female is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [Sec 355(A), CC],
- Three charges of Mischief Under $5000 [Sec 430(4), CC],
The female youth made her first appearance on these charges in Youth Provincial Court today, August 3, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.
