On October 13th, 2016, Regina Integrated Drug Enforcement Street Team (RIDEST) conducted a drug investigation in the city of Regina.
As a result of the investigation and information pertaining to police and public safety, Regina Police Service Special Weapons and Tactics team assisted RIDEST in the execution of a drug search warrant at 608 Victoria Avenue. The investigation concluded with the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine and morphine and Canadian currency. A loaded firearm and ammunition was seized from the residence during the drug trafficking investigation.
Upon conclusion of the investigation, two males were charged for several offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code of Canada.
43 year-old Gerald Earl MCDORMAND (DOB: 1973/05/30) is charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) ( [CDSA 5(2)]
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) [CDSA 5(2)]
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (hydromorphone) [CDSA 5(2)]
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 [CC 355(B)]
- Failure to Comply [CC 145(3)] x 3
46 year-old Colin James SCHMIDT (DOB: 1970/08/12) is charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) ( [CDSA 5(2)]
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) [CDSA 5(2)]
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (hydromorphone) [CDSA 5(2)]
Both accused will be in Provincial Court at 14:00 hours on October 14th, 2016.
The investigation is ongoing.
