On Friday, October 21st, 2016, a number of members of the Regina Police Service walked the beat in North Central Regina for “Community Cop Day”. Officers walked to show they are committed to the safety of the North Central neighbourhood, and responsive to the concerns of the residents.
About 15 police officers spoke with numerous members of the public, local business owners, met with a number of North Central organizations and members of the media while they walked the beat in North Central. It was an opportunity to connect with the community and provide a police presence including approachability for the evening. The Regina Police Service would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many organizations and residents who work to make the North Central community a better place.
The initial evaluation indicates it was a worthwhile experience for all involved and the Regina Police Service looks forward to the next Community Cop Day.
