The Regina Police Service is continuing investigation into a two-vehicle, motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 28 year-old female.
At approximately 0100 hrs on October 8, 2016, police and EMS were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Albert Street and 25th Ave. Preliminary investigation indicates a Kia Spectra was stopped for a red light at that intersection facing north. A Dodge Journey was also north bound on Albert Street travelling at a high rate of speed. It’s alleged the driver of the Dodge did not stop and slammed into the rear of the Kia. The front seat passenger of the Kia, a 28 year-old female, was fatally injured. The 31 year-old male driver of the Kia was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Twenty-eight year-old Brendan SUGAR, 88/08/13 was charged with: Impaired Driving Causing Death CC 255(3), Exceed .08 Cause Death CC 255(3.1), Exceed .08 Cause Bodily Harm CC 255 (2.1), Impaired Cause Bodily Harm CC 255(2).
SUGAR will make his first court appearance on Tuesday, October 11th.
