Two male youths have been charged with Aggravated Assault in connection with an incident in the early morning hours of Friday, December 30, 2016.
On Friday, December 30th, at approximately 3:35 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1100 block Cameron Street for a report that a number of people were assaulting another person with weapons. Police arrived and spotted three persons running from the scene. A Canine team started a track on the fleeing suspects and followed one set of tracks to a house in the 1000 block Retallack Street; a 15 year-old female was taken into custody. Two other suspects were tracked to a house in the 600 block of Robinson Street; two male youths were taken into custody. A 28 year-old female was also arrested at this residence on an unrelated matter. Investigation into this incident led to charges of Aggravated Assault against the two males; the 15 year-old female was released without charge at this time. The victim, a 17 year-old male, was taken to hospital for treatment of numerous injuries.
The youths cannot be identified in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. A 17 year-old male and a 16 year-old male, both of Regina, have been charged with Aggravated Assault, contrary to section 268(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. Both accused made their court appearances in Youth Court, at 1:00 p.m., on the 30th of December, 2016.
Twenty-eight year-old Amanda Dayle WASACASE, DOB: 1988-01-07, of Regina was charged with a Breach of Undertaking. WASACASE made her first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017.
