In the early hours of March 26, 2017, members of the Regina Police Service conducted a search warrant at a residence on the 1300 block of Winnipeg Street, as part of an investigation into possession of weapons. Due to the nature of the call (potential weapons) authorization was obtained for a Special Teams call-out which involved members from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit, Crisis Negotiators Unit, Canine Unit, plain clothes officers, and patrol members. Seven people exited the residence without incident and the residence was searched by investigators.
No charges pertaining to the Weapons Investigation have been laid at this point.
