The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in its investigation of an aggravated assault with a bladed weapon that sent an adult male victim to hospital with a serious injury.
On Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 8:52 p.m., police were dispatched to a house in the 1300 block of Wascana Street for a report of an injured male. The initial call stated three males entered the house, sprayed bear spray and then assaulted an adult male with a bladed weapon before fleeing the premises. A patrol member and canine member in the area attended the call and got the occupants out of the house, which was contaminated with bear spray. An adult male victim was taken to hospital by EMS for treatment of a significant laceration. Canine and patrol conducted an area search but did not locate the suspects. Police are investigating this incident and following up with the victim and other potential witnesses to gather information and physical evidence. Police have not identified the suspects at this stage in the investigation. It’s believed the three suspects are males; no weapon was recovered.
