Two males: one adult and one youth; are facing charges as the result of a warrant, executed by Emergency Services teams, including SWAT, at a residence in the 1000 block of Argyle Street yesterday.
Ongoing investigation into a weapons offence led investigators to obtain a warrant for a house in the 1000 block of Argyle Street the morning of Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Due to the possibility of firearms in the residence and the risk assessment of the operation, Emergency Service teams (Special Weapons and Tactics, Crisis Negotiators and Canine) were requested to execute the warrant. At approximately 12:00 p.m., police resources arrived at the location and, at about 12:30 p.m., two males exited the house. They were taken into custody without further incident. A search of the house yielded: a quantity of marihuana; a quantity of cocaine, paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking; ammunition; parts of firearms; an air pistol; some Canadian currency; two motorcycles, confirmed stolen; and an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), confirmed stolen. In addition, there were vehicle keys, found to belong to a vehicle located a few blocks away. That vehicle was reported stolen earlier this month. Further investigation led to charges against both males. The youth was also charged in connection to two recent Break, Enter and Theft incidents which occurred on March 26, 2017.
The 16 year-old male youth cannot be identified in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He is charged with six offences:
