A 52 year-old female is facing numerous charges as the result of investigation into an April 2nd collision involving three vehicles and injuries to five people.
On April 2, 2017, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Police were dispatched to the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Fleet Street for a report of a three-vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed two vehicles were stopped for a red light in the eastbound lanes of Dewdney Avenue (at the intersection with Fleet Street). A third vehicle was travelling eastbound on Dewdney Avenue at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended the second vehicle stopped at the traffic light. The second vehicle was propelled into the first vehicle at the red light, causing that vehicle to roll onto its roof. Occupants of all vehicles involved were injured, including the driver of the third vehicle. Investigation into this collision resulted in charges against the driver of the third vehicle.
Fifty-two year-old Muriel Janice BUFFALO, DOB: 1964-08-15, of Regina, is facing 15 charges in total:
- Five charges of Driving While Impaired, Causing Bodily Harm, s. 255(2) CC;
- Five charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm, s. 249(3) CC;
- Five charges of Criminal Negligence in Operation of a Motor Vehicle, s. 221 CC.
BUFFALO was arrested on May 31, 2017 and has been released with a court appearance at 9:30 a.m. on July 12, 2017, in Provincial Court.
