A 31 year-old male and a 32 year-old male, both from Regina, were arrested on July 8, 2017, during a break and enter in progress.
On July 8, 2017, at approximately 4:30 p.m. members of the Regina Police Service came across a break and enter in progress on the 1000 block of Retallack Street in Regina. One male was arrested by police officers at the scene. The other male fled the scene and was arrested by an officer via a high-risk traffic stop at the corner of Elphinstone Street and 5th Avenue. The male was arrested without further incident. A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located multiple weapons (a bat, a knife, and a window punch). This investigation is ongoing.
Thirty-one year-old Daniel Jonthan HERZIG (DOB: 1986/01/08) of Regina, was charged with:
– Attempt Break and Enter House [Sec 348(1)(A), CC];
– Possession of a Weapon [Sec 88, CC].
Thirty-two year-old Bruce Michael SMALLCHILD (DOB: 1985/02/24), of Regina, was charged with:
– Attempt Break and Enter House [Sec 348(1)(A), CC];
– Possession of a Weapon [Sec 88, CC];
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking [Sec 145(3), CC].
Both HERZIG and SMALLCHILD made their first appearances in Provincial Court on these charges on July 10, 2017, at 9:30 a.m.
