The Regina Police Service is pleased to welcome five new recruits to the Regina Police Service, tomorrow, Thursday, July 27, 2017.
The five recruits will take their oaths and be officially sworn in as members of the Regina Police Service. The recruits will start their training next Monday, on July 31, 2017, at the Saskatchewan Police College. They will graduate upon successful completion of 20 weeks of training and study at the College. After their Police College graduation, they will then commence their field training under the guidance of experienced Regina Police Service members. Please note that although these are new police recruits, they do not represent an increase in police positions for the Regina Police Service. Their engagements are simply part of our annual hiring process to maintain our authorized strength by replacing members who have left RPS through normal attrition, e.g. retirement.
The Swearing-In Ceremony is an important event for the recruits, as well as their families and friends. It signals the beginning of their formal police training, but it is also the end of each successful applicant’s journey through the hiring process, which sometimes takes years. They are to be congratulated for having achieved this step.
