The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is continuing its investigation into the discovery of a deceased male in Howell Park, in the area of the 2700 block of Howell Drive. The Regina Police Service has been in contact with the family of the deceased male and advised them that, based on all information available to us at this time, there does not appear to be a criminal aspect to the young man’s death.
This investigation began on July 23, 2017 at approximately 8:30 a.m., when police and EMS were dispatched to the area of Howell Park in the 2700 block Howell Drive for a report of a deceased person located on the pathway. An eighteen year-old male was confirmed to be deceased by EMS on scene. The preliminary investigation into this tragic incident indicates that this death appears to be a non-criminal case.
The family of the deceased male has been notified, but his name will not be made public by the Regina Police Service as this is not deemed a criminal case at this time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the male’s death will continue, led by the Office of the Chief Coroner, assisted by police.
