On Friday, August 25th, 2017, the Regina Police Service Drug Unit conducted drug enforcement activity in the city of Regina, as a result of a criminal investigation. A total of five residential addresses were subject to searches under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) in the early morning hours. These locations were in: the 1200 block of Blackfoot Drive, 0-100 block of Froom Crescent, 2100 block of 15th Avenue, 400 block of 17th Avenue and the 5500 block of Mitchinson Way. All residential addresses searched during the drug investigation were multi-unit buildings including condominium residences and apartments.
The drug enforcement activity was a collective effort of investigators from the Regina Police Service Drug Unit and Street Gang Unit, as well as Regina CFSEU (Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, made up of municipal police and RCMP). The enforcement activity was also supported by multiple investigators from the Regina Police Service Community Services Division (Patrol), Investigative Response Unit and a Crime Analyst. All five locations subject to search warrant executions, were entered by members of the Regina Police Service Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). A continued focus on public safety in the community was the initiation and objective of the drug enforcement operation. Four persons were arrested during the drug enforcement.
Cocaine, Marihuana, two Firearms, Ammunition, Canadian Currency, 13 Cellular Devices, a money counter and evidence indicative of drug trafficking were seized from multiple locations, subject to enforcement. The four individuals have been arrested and are facing multiple criminal charges. Names will not be released at this time.
