Members of Regina Police Service Emergency Services teams will be conducting training in Regina tomorrow: Thursday, September 14, 2017. This advisory is being issued in order to reassure members of the public that the sight of police members in tactical gear and numerous police vehicles at the Conexus Arts Centre during the day is part of scenario-based training.
The scenario will involve some City of Regina and Regina Police Service vehicles and will take place between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The location will be in the vicinity of the Conexus Arts Centre. There are no events scheduled at the Conexus Arts Centre at that time of day, but many members of the public daily use the walking paths and green space in the area, so they may come upon the exercise. Members of the public and media are asked not to insert themselves into the exercise in any way. The public may also be assured that all of the necessary safety checks have been performed on equipment and there is no live ammunition involved in this training. Other than the sight of police officers training at this location, there should be no disruption to the usual, everyday activity and traffic flow in the area.
The Regina Police Service thanks City of Regina Transit and the Conexus Arts Centre for their generosity and assistance in staging this training. The Regina Police Service is also grateful to Regina residents for their continued trust and cooperation.
