A 35 year-old male and a 37 year-old female are facing charges as the result of investigation into an incident involving a firearm, in the 1300 block of Garnet Street, this past weekend.
On Saturday, September 30, 2017, at about 9:50 p.m., a male called the Regina Police Service reporting he’d seen a person in the 1300 block of Garnet Street who was holding what appeared to be a long rifle. The complainant indicated the other male had pointed the firearm at him from a distance of about 20 feet. The complainant retreated to safety and called police. Another report indicated there may have been two shots fired. Officers went to an address in the 1300 block of Garnet and set up a safety perimeter. At about 11:45 p.m., an adult male exited the house and was taken into custody without incident. About five minutes later, an adult female left the house and was also safely taken into custody. Officers entered the home and found an air rifle. The house was searched and officers then found a loaded SKS rifle, on a pile of clothing in the basement. They seized the rifle and ammunition. There were also five children present in the house at the time. Further investigation led to charges against both adults.
