On October 29th, 2017, at approximately 3:55 pm, police observed a stolen vehicle in the area of 12th Avenue and Toronto Street. The occupants, four male youths, vacated the vehicle on the 2300 block of Quebec Street. Five males were arrested on the 1100 block of College Avenue, four of which included the occupants of the vehicle. A search of weapons revealed a hammer, and a modified firearm with ammunition. Investigation revealed that one of the four males was also found to be arrestable for the theft of another vehicle.
All five youths, who will not be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, face the following charges:
A fourteen year-old Regina male, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)].
A twelve year-old Regina male, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Fail to comply [CC 145(3)].
A thirteen year-old Regina male, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)];
- Fail to comply [YCJA 137]; and
- Fail to comply [CC 145(3)].
A thirteen year-old Regina male, is charged with:
- Carrying a concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of weapon [CC 88]; and
- Possession of prohibited firearm [CC 90].
A thirteen year-old Regina male, is charged with:
- 2 X Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Fail to comply [145(3)].
The males made their first appearance in Provincial Youth Court on these charges today, October 30, 2017, at 9:30 am.
