On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in the area of Borden Street and 13th Avenue, police observed an abandoned vehicle that had been reported stolen. A second vehicle was observed pulling up beside the first vehicle, bearing a license plate belonging to yet another vehicle reported stolen. A passenger was observed exiting the second vehicle, then entering and exiting the driver side of the first vehicle multiple times, and finally reentering the second vehicle, which then drove away. Police observed the second vehicle travelling northbound on the Ring Road, at a high rate of speed, entering the area of Salemka Crescent before being abandoned by the two occupants.
Police apprehended the two, a twenty-seven year-old male and a twenty-two year old male, who were subsequently charged. Both vehicles were recovered.
Twenty-two year-old Michael John YEWMAN is charged with two charges of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 [CC 355(B)].
Twenty-seven year-old Kevin Michael JARDINE is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 [CC 355(B)].
Both JARDINE and YEWMAN make their first appearance in Provincial Court on January 15th, 2018 at 9:30 am.
