A twelve-year-old female and a fourteen-year-old female have been charged in a stolen auto incident that occurred on the morning of Tuesday, November 7, 2017.
On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, around 9:00 a.m., police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported stolen, however, the vehicle, occupied by two young females, evaded police. Police located the vehicle, abandoned, in the 1700 block of Greer Court. Shortly after, police identified and located the two female suspects on a Regina Transit bus. Officers also located stolen credit cards on one the girls. The suspects were arrested without incident and the girls were held for court on the following day.
A twelve-year-old female, who will not be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [Sec 355(A), CC];
- Fraud Under $5000 [Sec 380(1)(B); CC];
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [Sec 333.1(1), CC].
A fourteen-year-old female, who will not be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 [Sec 355(A), CC];
- Fraud Under $5000 [Sec 380(1)(B); CC];
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [Sec 333.1(1), CC];
- Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer [Sec 249.1(1), CC];
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle [Sec 249(1)(A), CC];
- Mischief Under $5000 [Sec 430(4), CC];
- Obstruct Peace Officer [Sec 129(A), CC];
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking [Sec 145(3), CC].
The two youths made their first court appearances on these charges in Youth Court on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 9:30 a.m.
