Two persons: a 25 year-old female and a 23 year-old male, have been charged in connection with a robbery that occurred late Saturday night in Regina.
On Saturday, January 6, 2018, at about 11:25 p.m., police were dispatched to Vaughan Avenue in Regina for a report of a robbery. The information received in the call indicated four individuals robbed a 22 year-old female victim of her car. The vehicle was spotted by police a number of times, but police were not in a position to safely stop it. The car was being driven by a female. Police used On-Star technology to determine the vehicle had come to a stop in an alley of the 1500 block Athol Street. A perimeter was set up; and the vehicle began to move again, and attempts were made to stop the vehicle. The stolen vehicle collided with a police vehicle in the alley and reversed, crashing through a fence and leaving the area. Police were able to locate the vehicle once more and were able to bring it to a stop in the 2300 block of 14th Avenue. Two persons were arrested from the vehicle, just after 1:00 a.m. Further investigation revealed evidence that the victim had initially allowed the other persons into her vehicle, but then asked them to get out. It’s alleged the victim was prevented from leaving the vehicle, then assaulted and pulled out of the car. Both suspects were charged in connection with this aspect of the incident. The male suspect was also charged in connection with the collision with the police vehicle: Dangerous Drive, Hit and Run, Evade Police and Carry Concealed Weapon.
