Two males: one adult and one young person; are facing charges following an incident of aggravated assault on the weekend, involving four victims, one of whom was treated in hospital for numerous apparent stab wounds.
This incident, which initially presented as three separate calls for service, began when police were dispatched to an address in the 1000 block of Pasqua Street at about 2:17 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Police were called for a report that someone had pulled a gun on a group of people in the parking lot at that address. When police arrived, there were neither suspects nor victims at that location. Officers learned there had been an altercation of some kind outside the store between two groups of people, with the report that one person had produced what looked like a handgun. One group left the scene in a white car; the other group left in a silver four-door vehicle, possibly a Neon or Cobalt. Officers found some blood evidence at the scene in the 1000 block of Pasqua Street. At about the same time, the Regina Police Service Communications Centre received word that a male had just entered hospital with apparent stab wounds and three others appeared to be suffering the effects of bear spray. The male who’d been stabbed remains in hospital. While police were conducting their investigation, they were advised that a grey four-door Neon had just evaded police in the area of 3rd Avenue and Rae Street. Officers lost sight of the vehicle but found it, abandoned, on Albert Street and 7th Avenue North. A Canine team started a track from the abandoned vehicle which led, eventually to two different residences. Initially four individuals were detained; as the result of investigation, two males were charged in connection with the aggravated assault and related offences.
