The Regina Police Service is happy to report the recovery of a stolen vehicle that had been the subject of recent media coverage, not just for the theft of the van but its contents: football jerseys belonging to a local team. On June 18, 2018 at approximately 3:00pm, Regina Police Service located an abandoned stolen vehicle on the 4800 block of 8th Avenue. The vehicle had been reported stolen a week earlier and, because of its contents, became the subject of local news and social media stories.
The vehicle had been reported missing on June 10, 2018. The registered owner of the vehicle has been notified of the recovery and it’s believed all of the football jerseys have been returned to the team. Investigation into the theft of auto is ongoing. The Regina Police Service is asking anyone with information on this incident to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
