A 21 year-old female is facing charges in connection with an aggravated assault and an incident of evading police in a vehicle. These incidents are alleged to have occurred the night of Saturday, March 31, 2018.
On Sunday, April 1st, at just a few minutes after midnight, police were dispatched to hospital for a report of an injured female who’d sustained several, serious lacerations. This victim had arrived at the hospital on her own, but police heard from a resident who reported, moments earlier, a female with an injured arm wrapped in a towel, had come to his door asking for a cab. Officers confirmed with the cab company that they’d transported the injured woman to hospital. At about the same time, other units were involved in attempting to stop a suspicious vehicle at 7th Avenue and Montague Street. The driver was observed speeding and making sharp turns. Police were able to keep the vehicle in sight until it stopped in the 600 block of Cameron Street. Officers located a 21 year-old female in the van; she was arrested for evading police. She was also found to be the subject of outstanding Criminal Code warrants. At the time of the arrest, police found a machete and blood evidence on the passenger side of the vehicle. Further investigation led to evidence these events were related and the 21 year-old female was subsequently charged.
Twenty-one year-old Taryn Loree McALLISTER, of Regina, is charged with:
– Aggravated Assault, s. 268(1) CC;
– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer, s. 249.1(1) CC; and

McALLISTER made her court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018.
