Two people: a 30 year-old female and a 19-year-old male, are facing charges in connection with the violent robbery of a taxi driver, which occurred in Regina on April 13, 2018. The victim, a 34 year-old male, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the vehicle was stolen by the assailants.
The original news release issued on April 13th described the robbery and an update (on the same date) indicated that the vehicle had been recovered by RCMP, who had taken two persons into custody. These arrests occurred in North Battleford. Warrants requested by the Regina Police Service, charging these same individuals in connection with the April 13th robbery in the 2900 block of Parliament Avenue, were executed. As a result, both individuals are facing charges in connection with the Regina robbery.
Nineteen year-old Tristan Wade PINDER and 30 year-old Verena J. PETRUKA, both of no fixed address, Regina, are charged with Robbery [344(1)(b) CC]. Their court appearances on this charge will be coordinated with their court appearances on other, current charges arising from matters in the Battlefords region.
