Two males and a female, from Regina, were arrested on May 11, 2018 and are facing numerous charges as the result of an investigation into two stolen vehicles, firearms and other stolen items, all from a residence near Katepwa, Saskatchewan. The investigation focused around a residence on the 400 block of Connaught Street and included the combined efforts of several investigative units within the Police Service.
The investigation identified the two stolen vehicles from Katepwa were associated with the Connaught Street residence and a search warrant was authorized for this residence. Prior to execution of the search warrant, one of the two stolen vehicles left. A 28 year-old male driver of the stolen vehicle was taken into custody without incident on Wilkinson Crescent. A search of the vehicle yielded a loaded, prohibited firearm, a restricted firearm, ammunition, a small amount of the controlled substances methamphetamine and marihuana, along with other property from the Katepwa residence. The search warrant was then executed at the Connaught Street residence resulting in the arrest of a 29 year-old male and a 30 year-old female, without incident. Located at the residence was a prohibited firearm, ammunition, the second stolen vehicle, a small amount of a controlled substance (cannabis marihuana), and additional property from the Katepwa residence. Further investigation and coordination with the RCMP will follow.
The accused 28 year-old male, Parker James ARDIEL, of Regina is charged with:
– Possession of Property (vehicle) Obtained by Crime [355(a) CC];
– 3 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [355(b) CC];
– 2 x Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [86(1) CC];
– 5 x Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to the Public Peace [88 CC];
– 2 x Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC];
– 2 x Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition [94(1)(b) CC];
– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [95(1)(a) CC];
– 2 x Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime [96(1) CC];
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) [4(1) CDSA]; and
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (cannabis marihuana) [4(5) CDSA].
The accused 29 year-old male, Steven Lee MYSLICHUK, and the accused 30 year-old female, Jamey Lee BURNS, both of Regina, are jointly charged with:
– Possession of Property (vehicle) Obtained by Crime [355(a) CC];
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [355(a) CC];
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime [355(b) CC];
– Careless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition [86(1) CC];
– Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to the Public Peace [88 CC];
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC];
– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm [95(1)(a) CC]; and
– Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime [96(1) CC].
Steven Lee MYSLICHUK is also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (cannabis marihuana) [4(5) CDSA] and Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) [4(1) CDSA].
Additionally Jamey Lee BURNS and Parker James ARDIEL were jointly charged with Theft of Property Over $5000 [334(a) CC] and each individually charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle [333.1(1) CC] for the property and two vehicles stolen from the Katepwa, Saskatchewan residence.
The three accused made their first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today, Monday, May 14, 2018.
