A 29 year-old male, from Regina, has been charged in connection with an emergency services response to the Regina General Hospital on the weekend.
In the original call: police were dispatched to assist Regina Fire and Protective Services at approximately 9:47 p.m. on Sunday June 10, 2018. An unknown powder was discovered in an area of the hospital. After a thorough investigation by the RFPS Hazmat Team and members of the RPS, it was determined the powder was not a danger to the public or hospital staff.
Continued investigation into this event, led to identification of a suspect in the case. Although the powder proved to be harmless, the alleged actions of the suspect led to a significant emergency services response and an interruption to operations at the hospital. The male was arrested and charged with Mischief Under $5,000. This same individual was also the subject of warrants, in matters unrelated to this incident, from June, 2017 and November, 2017.
Twenty-nine year-old Terrance Riel GAMBLE, of Regina is charged with Mischief Under $5,000 [430(4) CC]; Assault [266 CC]; Robbery [344(1)(b) CC]; Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC] and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. GAMBLE will make his first court appearance on these charges at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
