Two Regina men are facing charges in connection with a Theft under $5,000, alleged to have occurred overnight in Regina.
Police were dispatched just before midnight on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, to a report of a theft in progress in the 3100 block of Crosbie Crescent. The information obtained in the call indicated two individuals appeared to be removing items from the backyard of a residence, moving back and forth between the yard and a parked truck. A police unit arrived and observed a grey Dodge truck, matching the suspect vehicle description, in the area. As the truck stopped in front of a residence on Chuka Drive, police approached. Officers detained the driver and passenger, while confirming that 12 tires and rims in the back of the truck were stolen property. As officer returned the stolen items to their owners, a spool of copper wire was also located in the suspect truck. Further investigation led to charges against both males. The passenger of the vehicle was also identified as the subject of outstanding warrants.
Twenty-nine year-old Eric Charles FAVEL, and 37 year-old Raymond Peter SPARVIER, both of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- 2 X Theft Under $5,000 (tires/rims) [334(b) CC];
- 2 X Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 (tires/rims) [355(b) CC]; and
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 (copper wire) [355(b) CC].
In addition, Eric Charles FAVEL is charged with:
- Possession of Break-in Instruments [351(1) CC]; and
- Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC].
Both FAVEL and SPARVIER will make their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
