The Regina Police Service is requesting information from the public to help in an investigation into a collision this morning involving a stolen truck.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, police were dispatched to a report of a collision that had just occurred in the intersection of 12th Avenue and Rose Street in downtown Regina. The preliminary investigation indicates a Ford F350 truck was west bound on 12th Avenue at Rose Street, when it crossed into the east bound lanes and struck another vehicle, stopped for the traffic light. The truck then struck two parked vehicles in the same vicinity. The driver of the truck exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver is described as male and wearing a toque and dark clothing. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident. The damage to the involved vehicles is significant. Police investigation has determined that the truck is a City of Regina vehicle, stolen from one of the golf courses, just outside the city. That theft has been reported to the RCMP. Investigations are continuing.
